The Houston Rockets showed the NBA world that the Los Angeles Lakers are a business corporation!

If the Los Angeles Lakers win back to back titles, there will be NBA pundits and casuals that will try to diminish the accomplishment much like last year. But the fact remains the Lakers are the champs because they do something better than any other team in the NBA.

They treat winning as a business. The corporate mission is to obtain more titles than anyone in the NBA!

The Brooklyn Nets were supposed to be the Lakers’ biggest competition. Think that will happen now that Kyrie Irving felt the need to “Get off the grid” while being videotaped at a birthday party? Think the Nets are happy the NBA is investigating?

When Lake Show Life covered the end of the Houston Rockets season in the bubble, we covered a list of issues that got passed around.

Los Angeles Lakers: Goodbye Rockets, bring on L.A. Clippers! 3 Lessons!

  • They blamed Carmelo Anthony.
  • They blamed Chris Paul.
  •  They blamed Kevin McHale.
  • They blamed Clint Capela.
  • They blamed Mike D’Antoni.
  •  They blame Russell Westbrook.
  • Remember they blamed Dwight Howard too.
  • Yet there’s been one common denominator for the Rockets through it all…James Harden.

Now after coming to training camp late from being a part of two separate parties in Las Vegas and Atlanta, James Harden basically quit on his team. Nine games in after turning down a two year $100 million plus extension.

Get used to the James Harden jokes folks because he deserves every one of them.

Look at the comparison between these two “superstars” and AD and LeBron. The only drama that could have come up was Davis calling out the defensive effort. Then LeBron comes out and says the goal is be the NBA’s top defensive team. Then they play together in Houston, wreak havoc in two games and break James Harden in the process.

There are cliché superstars and there are real ones. If you don’t think the Los Angeles Lakers don’t have the top two, then watch.
