Los Angeles Lakers: 4 Lessons on repeat embarrassing OT win over OKC
By Ronald Agers
LeBron James will run out of gas soon if the Los Angeles Lakers don’t wake up!
LeBron James says he does not get tired. God bless the man, that’s what true basketball players are supposed to say. Keep talking LeBron!
It’s good that his teammates can marvel at the man’s greatness as Kyle Kuzma said here about LeBron James after the game via Lakers reporter, Mike Trudell.
"“Being tired is just in your head … that dude’s a beast. If he says he doesn’t get tired, he doesn’t get tired.”"
Lake Show Life Lessons has never been politically correct with our analysis. We call it as we see it. The workload is getting ridiculous here. Again, this is a guy in his 18th year playing with a two month offseason.
Again we ask…What happened to the monitoring of the minutes? Just look at his updated workflow as of late.
- LeBron James still hasn’t missed a game this season and has played in the neighborhood approaching 89 minutes over the two prior games before this one.
- LeBron has played over 35 minutes in 9 straight games and to extend this further…11 of the last 12 games. When this happened in Cleveland, LeBron was asking for help and Pat Riley’s Miami Heat fitness program would be tested with all of this!
- After 41 more minutes, LeBron James has now played 130 minutes in his last three games, the most he has played in a three-game stretch as a Laker, including the 2020 playoffs.
- James has played at least 40 minutes in three consecutive games for the first time in four years.
- It bears repeating that he’s playing his 18th season!
LeBron James did not get “tired” carrying the Los Angeles Lakers with 25 points (9-20 shooting!), 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the 3 point jumper to take the game into overtime…again.
This series is not about ice cream dreams talking about how great the Lakers are playing because they are not. They are depending on this guy too much.
LeBron James is now ranked fourth in total minutes in the NBA behind R.J. Barrett, Fred VanVleet and Julius Randle. Understand that Barrett and Randle play for Tom Thibodeau and the New York Knicks, so for them, this is almost par for the course. But remember what that workload did to Derrick Rose and Luol Deng in Chicago?
To the readers that think this is an overreaction, consider this.
Lake Show Life was around long enough to remember when LeBron James suffered that groin tear a couple of seasons back. Then the same readers that thought the analysis was an overreaction had the “Oh we were 4th in the Western Conference before LeBron got hurt!” excuse after the site predicted the Lakers would miss the playoffs…at the All-Star break.
Oh, the Los Angeles Lakers will make the playoffs this year, but they also made it in 2013 when they ran Kobe Bryant in the ground to get there.
LeBron James has fought Father Time better than any other athlete in sports history. The Lakers are auditioning to be Father Time’s tag team partner.
Honestly, if it wasn’t for this player, LeBron’s heroics never have a chance to happen. Rob Pelinka has been criticized for the Marc Gasol signing. Lake Show Life says get over it. He signed this guy! Read to see who it is…
