Yes, Dennis Schroder played lights out for the Los Angeles Lakers!

Dennis Schroder almost single-handedly kept the Lakers close in the first half. The Thunder was rolling over the Lakers by as much as 20 points before Dennis became the “Menace” attacking the basket landed him at the free-throw line (He went 8-8 overall!).

Dennis finished with 19 points but unlike in the last game, Schroder didn’t wait until the last three minutes of regulation to join the party. He was much more efficient in this game especially driving the ball to the basket when the team needed it getting easy points at the line when the team was struggling to score. Throw in his 7 rebounds, 5 assists and a steal, this is the two-way performance everybody can be happy with.

Dennis also did a repeat performance of Thunder mega damage in overtime scoring the first 4 points to get the Lakers started.

This play here is what Lake Show Life Lessons has been waiting for basically all season long. LeBron James will get the headlines but watch what Dennis Schroder does to make sure he gets it.

  • After LeBron deflects the ball and throws it backwards towards halfcourt (This is a no-no but he got away with it!).
  • Watch how Dennis Schroder slides into a defensive position and builds a wall with Montrezl Harrell in from of Kenrich Williams.
  • That disciplined defensive play without reaching in for a foul shaved seconds off the clock and affected the shot for Williams. That small detail changed a potential jump shot to a desperate heave.

Up until that shot, Williams almost got the limo out for the Lakers scoring 11-13 shots for a career-high 24 points. This game was a perfect example of how a player can score the same exact amount of points and the quality of play is on different sides of the spectrum.

Look, Anthony Davis not being in the lineup obviously hurts the Los Angeles Lakers. The resting of the Achilles should continue for the next three to four games. The Lakers can and should wait for him. Read on to see the player the Lakers really miss!  Â
