It seems every time LeBron James hits an all-time scoring mark the Los Angeles Lakers lose!
LeBron James was 15 points short to hit yet another major NBA milestone coming into this game. Lake Show Life will show a piece of history here.
With that free throw, LeBron James became just the third player in NBA history to hit the 35,000 mark behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387) and Karl Malone (36,928).
The strange thing is every time he passes a scoring plateau, the Los Angeles Lakers lose.
- Back in 2019, when he passed Michael Jordan for fourth on the NBA all-time scoring list, the Lakers lost the game. By this time, the wheels had fallen off after the failed AD trade. Not only that but the Staples Center crowd booed him for missing free throws.
- When he passed Kobe Bryant for third all-time on the scoring list last season, the Lakers lost to the Philadelphia 76ers.
- Now that he passed 35,000 in this game? Well you see the trend. Just hope he doesn’t have any all-time postseason scoring records coming in an important playoff game.
LeBron James paced the Lakers scoring 32 points (14-23 shooting!), 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Want more records? LeBron matched another all-time record with 30 consecutive games with 15+ points, 5+ rebounds and 5+ assists. Who did he match? LeBron James. He also topped the 30 point mark for the 472nd time in his career, which ranks third all-time.
Tired of the accomplishments yet? Well Lake Show Life is not. Whether you like LeBron James or not, a word of advice is to enjoy greatness while it’s here. The same NBA casuals (AKA LeBron haters!) that complain about him for empty reasons will be the ones groaning wishing he would come back after he retires.
Here’s 18 years of scoring milestones…enjoy.
As you can see LeBron can score in every which way legal in a basketball playbook. Sadly, he only had help offensively from one guy consistently in this game. Read on to see who that player was.
