Portland Trail Blazers

Quinn Cook could join his third Pacific Division team

The Portland Trail Blazers arguably have the best point guard in the entire league in Damian Lillard. They also have more backcourt help in CJ McCollum. The Blazers have one of the best rosters in the league and are absolutely a team that can make some noise in the NBA Playoffs.

While the Blazers have Lillard, they do not have much depth behind the All-NBA point guard. Like with the 76ers, Lillard is the only point guard listed on Portland’s depth chart.

Three-point shooting is part of Portland’s identity and they are one of the best teams in the league beyond the arc. Cool fits that M-O perfectly and gives a team that has dealt with depth issues this season yet another option.

If there is any team in the league that is familiar with injuries it is Portland. The entire roster is yet to truly come together for an extended stretch this season and that may prompt the team to make a depth signing like Cook.

Plus, Portland is not one of the teams that is going to be a marquee buyout destination. While they are contenders, they are not in that first tier of contenders and play in a small market.

Teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, Utah Jazz and Milwaukee Bucks will all be higher on the buyout totem pole.

That leaves the Blazers to get lesser role players, such as Quinn Cook, who still fits the playstyle in Portland.
