5. Miami Heat

There definitely are some things to get excited about with the Miami Heat. No state income tax, playing alongside a winner in Jimmy Butler and the fact that you live in Miami are all intriguing reasons for Griffin to take his talents down to South Beach.

But if Griffin is really concerned with contending for an NBA Championship then this is not the move for him. The Heat might be the defending Eastern Conference Champions but they are the fifth-best team in the East, at best?

The Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks and even Boston Celtics all have better odds of making it to the NBA Finals than the Heat. While the Heat will always be a tough out in the NBA Playoffs, it is looking more and more likely that last year was an anomaly.

Griffin would not have a big role on most of these teams but he would have a small role on this team while also sacrificing the best chance to contend for a title. With Bam Adebayo, it is hard to see Griffin playing some huge role on the Heat.

If he is going to take a lesser role then he probably should do it on a team that has better odds of actually winning the NBA Championship.
