2. The Los Angeles Lakers are easily the best fit for Andre Drummond

So there is good reason to believe that Andre Drummond is going to be bought out — that is half the battle. The other half is the Los Angeles Lakers actually signing Drummond, as they won’t be the only team looking to sign him on a league minimum contract.

Drummond’s numbers and averages may make him appear better than he is but there still will be interest there. He is a former all-star that can get any contending team 15 and 10 in a lesser role. There are certain contending teams that could use that.

No more than the Lakers, though. This is the number one need that the Los Angeles Lakers have. The Lakers do not have a traditional backup center and we know that the team is interested in potentially adding one as they signed Damian Jones to a 10-day contract. Montrezl Harrell is great, but he is not a traditional center and the team needs that for matchup purposes, especially in the NBA Playoffs.

This is ideal for Andre Drummond as well. While he naturally is going to want to sign with a contender to win an NBA Championship, he also should be looking to join a team where he can get valuable playing time for his contract.

He is not going to get a big deal but if he goes to LA and plays really well in the NBA Playoffs then he may get more than he otherwise would have, similar to how Dwight Howard revived his career with his strong play in LA.

dark. Next. The strangest all-stars in Lakers history

It is a match made in NBA heaven and it benefits both the Los Angeles Lakers and Andre Drummond. Drummond gets to contend for a title and actually play a role on a title-contending team and the Lakers fix their biggest roster hole.
