3. LaMarcus Aldridge adds absolutely nothing to the Los Angeles Lakers

This is not the same LaMarcus Aldridge from even two seasons ago and he would add absolutely nothing to the Los Angeles Lakers, especially when Anthony Davis is healthy. He could be a better version of Markieff Morris, but that is not worth trading KCP and assets for.

Aldridge could absolutely help the right team and the right team is the Boston Celtics, in my opinion. But he is 35 years old and is trending the wrong direction. The Lakers have roster needs for sure, none of which would be cured by Aldridge.

The Lakers need another traditional center, which has been documented all season here at Lake Show Life, and they could use more depth at wing with Wesley Matthews being a non-factor, KCP being inconsistent at times and Alex Caruso not being a big offensive threat.

Aldridge is none of those things.

Now I know what you are thinking. Wasn’t I the guy that was pounding the table for Blake Griffin before he signed with the Brooklyn Nets? Yes. But that is because Griffin was bought out and free to sign for the veteran minimum.

He is also much younger than Aldridge. While unlikely, there is still some optimism that he could return to 80% of what he was two seasons ago and become a contributor off the bench. That potential does not exist with Aldridge.

If he does happen to get bought out then maybe you could make the case if the Los Angeles Lakers strike out on their other targets. But at the end of the day, it still feels extremely unlikely that the Los Angeles Lakers acquire LaMarcus Aldridge.
