The Los Angeles Lakers roster is dropping like flies!

The Los Angeles Lakers have this weekend to rest before playing five games next week. The challenge is not winning the games, but having enough options for Vogel to use. It’s already bad enough that Damian Jones will probably use his entire 10-day contract in the Lakers starting lineup with Anthony Davis and Marc Gasol out, but what about when Alex Caruso gets hurt?

Caruso only played seven minutes before leaving the game with a head contusion.

Caruso had a plus/minus of +7 and the Lakers were building momentum in the second quarter. After he left, the Pacers jumped back to another huge lead. But for now, if Caruso is placed in the concussion protocol (More than likely the way it looked!), who gets his spot in the rotation?

Wesley Matthews Jr.:

Normally the Lake Show Life staff would be all over Wes for scoring 3 points on 1-3 shooting. It’s just sad that he scored three more points in this game than the previous four games combined! To make things worse, he has totaled 3 points in the last six games. He was on the floor in crunch time playing defense so does that count for something?

Talen Horton-Tucker:

Now the NBA is starting to catch up to his game. It’s on THT to adjust. Even though he scored 6 points, it was on 2-7 shooting. The aggressiveness that Lakers fans fell in love with in the preseason is now being used against him. He has to slow his game down and use his defense as a sparkplug. He is looking for buckets instead of taking what the defense gives him and making plays.

Finally, Lake Show Life looks at the starting guards.

The combination of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Dennis Schroder have to play better. Malcolm Brogdon outscored both of them 29-18 and Aaron Holiday, his backup, had 10 points on 5-8 shooting. With LeBron finishing 7 points under his average, Markieff Morris being inconsistent all year and the center spot contributing nothing all year, these guys have to score more. 11 points on 3-11 shooting (Schroder) or 7 points on 2-6 shooting (Caldwell-Pope) is not going to get it.

The Lakers now stand at 25-13 and will host the Golden State Warriors on Monday.
