1. LaMarcus Aldridge

A trade for LaMarcus Aldridge does not make sense for the Los Angeles Lakers

LaMarcus Aldridge and the San Antonio Spurs have mutually agreed to part ways and Aldridge will not play for the Spurs again until the team works out a trade. This is a situation in which the Spurs should be able to get a deal done as Aldridge’s contract is workable. He is on an expiring and is paid $24 million this season.

While it is workable for most teams, it is not workable for the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers do have the finances to be able to afford a deal for Aldridge, but it would make no sense with who the team would have to trade in order to make it possible.

The Lakers would have to trade Dennis Schroder and other assets to make it work financially or could trade Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Montrezl Harrell together. That simply is not happening.

Aldridge would add something fun to the Los Angeles Lakers as well. He would give the team needed depth while Davis is out and could replace Markieff Morris in the rotation and be a much more efficient option for the team.

The money just does not make sense. Sorry to any Lakers fans who wanted to see Aldridge in LA after he spurned the Lakers in free agency back in 2015.
