The Los Angeles Lakers have kickstarted the second half just as the team was looking to do. After stumbling into the all-star break with injuries and a poor finish, the Lakers have started the second half with three consecutive wins, all while being banged up.
The Lakers’ depth has flexed its muscle in the first three games of the second half with the bench unit playing a huge role in each game. Granted, the three wins were against the Indiana Pacers, Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves, but two blowouts is a great sign.
That is the first step to securing the most productive second half possible for the Los Angeles Lakers. Another step is finishing the season strong right in time for the playoffs, with the in-between step being an acquisition of some sorts.
The Los Angeles Lakers will make some kind of move this season.
Big or small, the Los Angeles Lakers are going to bring in some kind of external help. Perhaps it could be something as small as signing a buyout player like the team did with Markieff Morris last year.
It could be a bigger move, like a trade, or signing a big-name buyout signing that is more impactful than Morris was expected to be last year (although he was fantastic in the NBA Playoffs).
We’ve heard rumors and reports connecting the team to various different players. We could have an idea of what the Lakers plan on doing at the trade deadline, but there is also the possibility of the team working in silence, which they have done before (nobody heard about Dennis Schroder or Montrezl Harrell until it happened).
There is a hierarchy of possible moves and in a perfect world, there are three moves that I would personally favor over any other move. This is solely objective and all of these players will likely be on the move this season — whether it is to the Los Angeles Lakers or not.
Here are my personal favorite three moves that Rob Pelinka could make this season, as covered on the latest episode of the Lake Show Life Podcast.
