How Frank Vogel can fix the Los Angeles Lakers offensive woes:

The Los Angeles Lakers rank 21st in points per game. Obviously missing Anthony Davis is a huge deal. Even with LeBron James on the court, the Lakers were still in the bottom half in total offense. Without LeBron and AD, this is the NBA’s worst offense by an LA mile.

With LeBron and AD injured, Lakers fans are now clamoring for the Dennis Schroder and Andre Drummond pick-and-roll, which actually intrigues as a viable offensive option. Drummond’s ability to finish lobs and offensive rebounding gives the Lakers a much-needed threat at the rim.

Schroder gets to be the go-to scorer. However, Schroder became the go-to scorer only when the Atlanta Hawks became a bottom-feeding team in the Eastern Conference. Drummond was Cleveland’s best player – and Cleveland is headed straight for the lottery.

Dennis Schroder and Andre Drummond are good NBA players, not superstars. To expect Frank Vogel to have the same level of success without LeBron and AD is unrealistic.
