This Brooklyn Nets/Los Angeles Lakers matchup was ruined by the referees!
Before we get started. Study the picture above. Just look at the confusion. Watching the game, Lakers fans probably had the same look. Dennis Schroder got kicked out?
One of the things that makes Lake Show Life a unique Lakers website is business is never very far from our analysis. With the COVID-19 pandemic restricting finances of families and businesses and the inability to allow the arenas to be at full capacity, primetime games like these are paramount not only to the fans but the NBA.
Here’s a list of stars that either DID NOT PLAY or were on a minutes restriction.
- LeBron James
- Anthony Davis
- James Harden
- Kevin Durant was on a minutes restriction!
See these are players that are marketed for high TV ratings. Follow us here, how smart is it to throw out the two best players on the floor to make things worse? Oh, and ratings are at a all-time low too.
The entire referee crew should be ashamed and the NBA brass should be angry. Kyrie Irving and Dennis Schroder were ejected in the third quarter.
Wanna explanation of this? Here it is via ESPN.
"“After being assessed the first technical fouls, both players were warned against to move on,” he said. “And so when Irving couldn’t stop yelling at Schroder, he was then assessed his second technical foul and ejected. And after Irving’s ejection, if you look at the video, Schroder kind of waves goodbye to him in a taunting manner, and that’s why he was issued a second technical foul and ejected.”"
Fans are still trying to figure out the Montrezl Harrell ejection and now this? Both players were playing with emotion, playing well and were trying to get in each other’s head. This was an epic battle brewing that ABC/ESPN spent a week promoting.
- Dennis Schroder: 20 minutes, 19 points (7-11 shooting!), 4 assists, ZERO turnovers and 3-4 from behind the arc.
- Kyrie Irving: 21 minutes. 18 points (6-11 shooting!), 4 rebounds while continuing his awe-inspiring moves in the paint.
Fun fact: The Lakers ended the game outscoring the Nets 60-39 after the ejections.
The ejections took the air out of a very entertaining game. But here’s the warning to Los Angeles Lakers fans. Even though the Lake Show won and happiness reigns over Lakers Nation, a situation like this can cost playoff series.
The staff did research and found out fans don’t watch games for referees. The referees need to be enlightened on the information we found.
