The Los Angeles Lakers are running out of heathy bodies…HELP!!!
To no fault of the media or Lakers fans, the common narrative these days is when Anthony Davis and LeBron James come back, everything will be back to normal.
Lake Show Life looks at the roster and wonders who will the superstars play with when they get back? After looking at the injuries of Jamal Murray…
Then Donovan Mitchell on day before the Lakers face the Utah Jazz this weekend…
The NBA fans are begging as a whole to please make the injuries stop!
It’s bad enough that Andre Drummond sat out the game for his toe injury and Markieff Morris was out with an ankle injury. LeBron and AD are stenciled on the injury report at this point. But check out the list of injuries throughout the roster!
- Dennis Schroder is playing with having a right foot infection. He has been told that playing it makes it no worse so he will deal with it for the rest of the season.
- Add this to the tailbone injury suffered in the Brooklyn game.
- Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was playing the second half with back spasms.
- Marc Gasol dislocated his pinkie finger on his left hand.
- Wesley Matthews has had neck issues for weeks.
- Kyle Kuzma is playing through a mild calf strain.
At this point, the Lake Show Life staff would love to cover a healthy Los Angeles Lakers team.
With time running out on the season, the Lakers as a franchise will need to get creative with a practice that is hated around NBA discussions…Load management.
Bottom line, it’s honorable that the players are trying to push through these injuries but what are they accomplishing?
- Dennis Schroder: 8 points (3-8 shooting!), 8 assists with a plus/minus ratio of -19 in 28 minutes.
- KCP: 2 points (1-7 shooting!), 3 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists in 23 minutes.
- Wesley Matthews: 3 points (1-7 shooting!) and 2 steals with a plus/minus of -17 in 23 minutes.
These three players got more minutes than these players.
- Alfonzo McKinnie: 10 points (4-6 shooting…two 3 pointers!), 2 rebounds and a steal. His plus/minus was +11 in 16 minutes.
- Montrezl Harrell: 12 points (5-11 shootng!), 8 rebounds, 3 assists in 20 minutes.
- Ben McLemore: 17 points (15 in the final quarter!) on 7-12 shooting with 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
The point? The Los Angeles Lakers have to find production from anywhere and not just personal favorites. Vogel likes to play his veterans. Great, no problem. But if they are not producing. SIT THEM!
Speaking of producing. Boston had a player that did a ton. Jaylen Brown was a major problem. See what he did…
