Lake Show Life will take this time honor LaMarcus Aldridge and his long career!

The great thing about this website Lake Show Life and the readers that follow us is that the common denominator is the deep appreciation if the game of basketball. That’s why these words being type hurts so much…

The NBA and Lake Show Life have to say goodbye to LaMarcus Aldridge:

The Lessons series is not about talent because every player on the NBA roster and their G-League affiliate can play. It’s about the execution and how hard the players play on a consistent basis. Aldridge was widely criticized when he was dominated by Andre Drummond on Saturday night.

Who knew that playing in that game could have been life threatening.

How serious is this? Ask the families of Hank Gathers or Reggie Lewis. Better yet, Google their names and get educated.

The NBA world was shocked when LaMarcus Aldridge had to retire from the NBA immediately due to an irregular heartbeat. The last game he played was against the Lakers finishing with 12 points on 5-8 shooting.

Let’s be clear here, Aldridge could play some basketball and he put in work for 15 years.

  • Seven-time All-Star
  • Five-time All-NBA
  • NBA All-Rookie first team
  • 19,951 career points
  • 8,478 career rebounds
  • LaMarcus Aldridge is one of only 25 players in NBA history with 19,000+ career points and 8,000+ career rebounds.
  • LaMarcus Aldridge retires 47th on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
  • This season alone he passed John Stockton and Bernard King.
  • He’s the Portland Trail Blazers third all time leading scorer all-time with 12,562 points. That leaves him behind Clyde Drexler (18,040) and Damian Lillard (16,379).
  • Dame has gone on record stating that the Blazers should retire his number 12 jersey.

In a season where stars have faced challenges due to injuries, COVID-19 scenarios and just plain fatigue from the quick turnaround from the season, the hits just keep on coming. It’s been really rough.

Aldridge was considered one of the best power forwards in the NBA and was courted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the big free agent market boom back around 2016.

Lake Show Life dedicates this Lake Show Life Lessons piece to LaMarcus Aldridge celebrating his career and hoping he has a long enjoyable life in his retirement. Moreover, the staff is glad that his condition was diagnosed before a possible tragedy happened.

Lake Show Life has extended its post-game coverage this season! There will be short post-game reports shortly after the game in addition to the extended post-game of Lake Show Life Lessons!
