4. Talen Horton-Tucker’s can improve on defense

Another unique talent Horton-Tucker possesses is an exceptionally long wingspan of 7-foot-1. That’s the type of wingspan one would expect to see from a player who is several inches taller (Horton-Tucker is 6-foot-4).

This would mean, at least in theory, that he has the potential to become an awesome defensive player.

On the season, he has a defensive rating of 105, which is very solid. But advanced stats can be very deceiving when it comes to defense.

Most young players, particularly guards and wings, struggle on the defensive end. One has to study lots of video and get many reps, especially against some of the league’s best offensive players, before things start to click on D.

If Horton-Tucker improves in this department, he could become one of just a handful of stars who excels at both ends of the floor.
