1. Talen Horton-Tucker has to be a better 3-point shooter
The NBA game has become more and more reliant on outside shooting in recent years, and therefore it’s seen as a necessity for stars to be at least a decent 3-point shooter.
As of now, it’s a massive hole in Horton-Tucker’s game.
Through the first 52 games of the 2020-21 season, he’s hitting just 25.9 percent of his treys. That’s simply unacceptable.
As previously mentioned, if he’s unable to consistently score away from the rim, opponents can simply sag off him and prevent him from getting into the paint.
If/when Horton-Tucker gets his 3-point shooting percentage to at least, say, 36 percent, it would open things up dramatically for him offensively. His overall efficiency would also become much better since, you know, a 3-pointer is worth more points than a 2-pointer.
At that point, the NBA All-Star game could be his next stop.
