Kyle Kuzma gave the Los Angeles Lakers buckets early and often!

It is amazing how Kuzma can divide the Lakers fanbase with his play. Half of the fans want him traded while the other half believes he could be the “third star” the team has been searching for. Yes, the relationship is complicated as the Lake Show Life tried to explain earlier this season.

The problem that stems from Kuzma’s situation can be broken down in the last two games. Kuz scored only two points against the Kings in a performance so listless that no one could remember a contribution that he had.

Then there’s the first half of this game where he comes out and plays like his number could be in the rafters. One baseline dunk here sparked an offensive explosion.

He had 14 points in the first half, knocking down four shots from the land of the extra point.

In the second half, he helped spark an 11-2 run in the final frame to make things close. Kuz finished with a team-high 24 points (6-11 from behind the line!) with three rebounds and two blocks.

Should Kuzma and Marc Gasol get more playing time as an option to get the Lakers out of this funk? Perhaps, especially the way these players performed.

Markieff Morris:

0-0 from the field. zero points, three rebounds, and no defense in 9 minutes. In social media, this is what is called getting cardio.

Ben McLemore:

0-2 from the field. zero points, one foul in 9nineminutes.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope:

Sure, look at the box score. 10 points, four assists, and two steals. Now, if you actually watched the game, one would notice that KCP had 0 points in the second half. He played 33 minutes.

The Los Angeles Lakers play the Denver Nuggets, winners of 9-of-10, on Monday night in Staples Center in a must-win game. Hold up…they are ALL must-win games at this point.
