Los Angeles Lakers: 4 Lessons in a playoff opening beating by the Suns
By Ronald Agers
The Los Angeles Lakers weren’t ready for the Phoenix Suns and they got spanked for it!
This fact doesn’t have to go any further than the Yahoo! Sports report from Chris B. Haynes stating Frank Vogel accusing Chris Paul of a dirty play by pulling down LeBron James injuring his left shoulder.
"“My view was overly aggressive box out, a dangerous play where ’Bron was in the air and got uppercut,” Vogel told media members on a postgame Zoom call."
The fact that Chris Paul and LeBron James are probably the closest players in the NBA makes this ridiculous despite the fact CP3 is known to do questionable things in his career. Just ask Rajon Rondo.
The bottom line is the Lakers weren’t ready and the Suns were. Outside of Alex Caruso and Montrezl Harrell, the Lake Show really didn’t match Phoenix’s intensity.
The question going forward for both teams is will the NBA hand out suspensions for this fracas?
Who would be suspended for the Phoenix Suns?
Oh that would be Deandre Ayton. Take a look at the video above and you see the Phoenix big man take a step on the floor before one of the coaches motions him to get back. Lakers fans probably would love it if Kiki Vandeweghe dropped the hammer for that small indiscretion.
Who would be suspended for the Los Angeles Lakers?
Montrezl Harrell. Doesn’t seem like much but the Inside the NBA crew had a strong debate about Harrell’s actions. Sure there will be readers that think that this statement is an overreaction. But Lake Show Life writers have a long memory. Remember this?
In closing, lake Show Life asks Lakers Nation to send well wishes to Ben McLemore who was very lucky in surviving a car crash with no injuries. It happened after the Golden State game a few nights ago.
He did not play in this game but was ready to go.
Lake Show Life has extended its post-game coverage this postseason! There will be short post-game reports shortly after the game in addition to the extended post-game of Lake Show Life Lessons!
