Los Angeles Lakers survival tip one: Dennis Schroder has at least two games to prove Ronald Agers wrong!
It is no surprise to regular readers of Lake Show Life that writer Ronald Agers is not a fan of Dennis Schroder. It’s no surprise that it is on record that the Los Angeles Lakers need to figure out a way to get rid of Schroder in the offseason.
Long-time reader Ricky Welch (Slick is what they call him…) had Dennis Schroder in a Lakers uniform months prior to the Danny Green deal in the offseason to get him in the purple and gold. The debates have been ongoing if this guy should be the point guard of the future.
Well, Dennis Schroder has about two games to prove Ronald Agers wrong because after Game 4, this has to be the low point for a guy that turned down the $84 million extension the Lakers reportedly offered.
After Game 1, ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins called out Anthony Davis for his poor performance. But we all know he took accountability and improved. He called out Dennis Schroder too.
Outside of drawing that “Flagrant 2” foul from Devin Booker, has Dennis done anything that anyone can remember? In Game 4, Schroder disappeared when the Lakers needed him the most with 8 points (3-13 shooting!), 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
His blown layup at the end of the game was so bad that LeBron just dropped his head in shock and Dennis Schroder did a model jog back down the court just in time to watch Jae Crowder end the game with a 3 pointer.
It doesn’t matter who is right and who is wrong at this point. Dennis Schroder has to get it together and play better. He has to score the basketball and make plays for his teammates to help LeBron out.
Right now, Lake Show Life writer, Ronald Agers has been right all along about Schroder’s play. He’s just a guard that looks for his numbers and a huge contract. Even the phony Schroder apologists have disappeared.
If Dennis continues to be wildly inconsistent like he has all year long, the Lakers will lose the series. But he can always turn things around and change this Lake Show Life narrative.
Seems like a victory lap for the Lake Show Life Lessons staff doesn’t it? It could be, but the Lessons series is all about improvement and showing ways that players can help the Lakers win games. Read on to see how Dennis Schroder can actually help turn the series around even if his jumper does not return.
