Former all-stars the Los Angeles Lakers could sign: Derrick Rose

Derrick Rose has been connected to the Los Angeles Lakers multiple times as a trade candidate but nothing ever came to fruition. With Rose now being a free agent and having played on some mediocre basketball teams without a first-round playoff win, it is time for him to ring chase.

Rose is such a perfect addition for the Lakers and I would legitimately be shocked if the team does not sign him. Another team could come in and offer more money for the Lakers but at the end of the day Rose is exactly what the Lakers need off the bench and LA is a great place for Rose to play.

The Lakers really need a second playmaker that can take some of the burden off of LeBron and play with LeBron and create for him as well. Dennis Schroder was simply not that guy as he is not a creator, he is more of a ball-stopper for the point guard position.

Derrick Rose has some of those same ball-stopper traits but he is a veteran who could really thrive as a bench playmaker for the Lakers. Giving Rose 25 minutes a game off the bench would be perfect for the Lakers and pairing him alongside a defensive two guard would be perfect.

Rose’s price should not be that high and he can essentially be what Rajon Rondo was for the team. The answer is not Schroder, it is Rose.
