Lakers Rumors: High profile player number one…Kevin Love!

The Kevin Love/Cleveland Cavaliers divorce needs to happen. It will happen and it should happen in the offseason. Love is ready to move on and based on some of the events this past season, he has done everything short of wear AD’s infamous “That’s All Folks” T-shirt walking out of the arena every night.

When he re-upped with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2018, he probably didn’t expect four Finals appearances, but he didn’t think this team would be a bottom feeder in 2021. That number one pick the Cavs held onto against LeBron’s wishes in their last title run turned into Collin Sexton.

The chemistry? Well…

Both sides will try to reach a buyout deal because both sides are going in opposite directions. Love had yet another injury-riddled season averaging 12 points in 25 minutes. Cleveland is committed to building around Sexton, Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen. Love’s All-Star days are gone, but he can play a valuable role as a shooter and rebounder for this Lakers team.

Get used to this video when the Lakers rumors heat up about a LeBron James/Kevin Love reunion because this was the moment that marked the beginning of the end for Kevin Love in Cleveland.

Love has two years remaining on his contract with a price tag of more than $60 million. He is not going to get traded folks, but remember the Blake Griffin situation. If Love is willing to leave enough money on the table to get out of Cleveland, this buyout is likely. With Love set to turn 33 in September, his chances for playing games that matter is evaporating.

Andre Drummond’s departure is coming (Unless he wants to get on this list as taking a massive pay cut!) and if reports of a solid relationship between Love and LeBron are true, this situation could work out for both sides.

  • The Lakers get a potential rotational big man that can shoot and rebound for cheap.
  • Kevin Love can come back to the West Coast (UCLA player) and resurrect his career from the two plays you just saw.

To the Lakers fans that think Kevin Love is washed, have you seen Blake Griffin play in Brooklyn as of late? This just in, the Lakers don’t even need that much from Kevin.

The Lake Show Life staff knows what you are thinking…

“Man, Kevin Love can’t play defense! He’s just a shorter Marc Gasol!”

Well, Lakers fans you are right. That’s why the next player on this list is perfect right along with Kevin Love to fill the middle for the Los Angeles Lakers. He will provide something that Andre Drummond, Montrezl Harrell and Marc Gasol didn’t this year…FEAR!
