Lakers Rumors: High profile player number four: John Wall!
Sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it? Well if you think it is, you forgot the concept of this article. These are players that are presumably bought out! John Wall’s contract was believed to be untradeable last year and it will be this year.
The Houston Rockets shocked the NBA world by swapping Russell Westbrook for John Wall (That’s right, John Wall was shocked too!), and if you are a Lakers fan, you watched the franchise blow up on a TV screen when the Lakers smoked them in their own gym.
- James Harden quit and eventually ended up in Brooklyn.
- DeMarcus Cousins was waived and ended up in Los Angeles with the Clippers.
- Christian Wood will be the featured star and Wall will not be in the Rockets plans along with that huge contract.
Wall had a solid season averaging 20.6 points a game while showing flashes at times this season.
Is John Wall in his prime? No, but he is still one of the quickest players in the NBA with the ball in his hands. While Dennis Schroder is better coming off the bench, Wall will be respected enough to be handed the point guard spot.
John Wall would be without a doubt the steal of the offseason if he can stay healthy because he can still get to the rim, be a playmaker and get his own shot.
Wall has made his money and at this stage of his career, he has to be looking for a winning situation (Remember Houston lost 20 straight spanning six weeks!) and for the price, the Lakers can find more gold to go with the purple. The only issue is John Wall’s ability to stay healthy, but at buyout market prices, he is a risk worth taking.
