3. Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls were buyers instead of sellers at the NBA trade deadline this past season as the team traded Wendell Carter Jr. and two future first-round picks in return for all-star center, Nikola Vucevic. Despite missing the playoffs this season, the Bulls at least have their core of Vucevic and Zach LaVine to build around.

The Bulls have some monetary decisions to make this offseason, particularly what to do with Lauri Markannen, but should still have enough to bring in some role players. The Bulls are not strapped with cash but they do have money to spend.

A role player of Caruso’s caliber is what the Bulls should be looking for at this stage. Caruso would instantly serve as the third-best guard, coming off the bench and adding a defensive presence to a team that was mediocre defensively last season.

He also brings the experience of winning a championship alongside him, which is something that no player on the Bulls really brings to the table. Caruso might not be the big-name bench scorer that teams of this caliber typically try and sign, but he has the potential to operate as a three and D guard if given more chances from beyond the arc.

The Bulls are not going to lay down and do nothing this offseason but they are not going to be in the market for the bigger name role players in free agency. That is why they should focus on a free agent of Caruso’s caliber.
