1. Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns are in the Western Conference Finals after sweeping the Denver Nuggets in the second round and with all of the injuries that have transpired, the Suns very well could end up winning the NBA Championship.

Deandre Ayton had himself a series against the Phoenix Suns. Heading into the series, we talked about the mismatch in the Lakers’ favor with Ayton being the only big and the Lakers having Anthony Davis.

When Davis played and played well the Lakers won. When Davis laid an egg in Game 1 and got hurt the Lakers lost. The mismatch was there, but it was not Ayton’s fault. Ayton played great, he just has literally no size depth behind him.

That is why this move would make so much sense from a logistical standpoint. The Suns could give Ayton that veteran backup center and could get someone who greatly helps Phoenix’s rebounding cause. Phoenix was not a great rebounding team last season and Drummond would help that.

The only thing that could hold this back is Drummond wanting a bigger role than playing 18-20 minutes as a veteran leader off the bench.
