4. Andre Iguodala
Another veteran from the Miami Heat, Andre Iguodala would mostly be brought in for his defense, but more importantly, his experience in the NBA Playoffs and his ability to be in a crunch time lineup and go up against anyone and not feel out of place or fall victim to the bright lights.
Iguodala has as much playoff experience as a role player can have in their career. He was part of the Golden State Warriors dynasty and came up big several times in the playoffs for the Warriors, oftentimes against LeBron James.
He is not the best shooter and his regular-season scoring numbers have been down for a while, but he always seems to hit a big shot when it comes his way and can play valuable defensive minutes. Like Rajon Rondo, Iguodala is a player who shows up when the stage is the biggest.
That being said, his role on the Los Angeles Lakers should not be massive in the regular season as the team establishes a set rotation to see where he fits in. Iguodala really is a zero offensively, especially in the regular season, so Frank Vogel will have to be careful on who he pairs him with on the court.
It would not be surprising to see his minutes increase in the playoffs, especially in defensive situations where getting a stop is the most important thing for the Lakers.
Iguodala does have a club option on his contract but it would be extremely surprising if the Heat opted in to pay him $15 million. He should be a free agent this offseason and will get a minimum contract.
