Los Angeles Lakers greatest scorers: 22. Dick Barnett
Dick Barnett only played for the Lakers in three seasons during his career, but the guard was still able to have tremendous success scoring the basketball during that brief run. Even more impressive is that, even though he played from 1962-65 with Elgin Baylor and Jerry West on the Lakers, he was still able to find the touches and efficiency to score at the level that he did over those three seasons.
Barnett’s career with the Lakers lasted 232 games over the course of those three seasons and he still put up 3,890 total points despite such a short time being spent in the purple and gold. The guard averaged 16.8 points per game over his time with the Lakers while shooting a solid 44.8 percent from the floor over that span. Again the most impressive part of all of this was that he could average just under 17 points per game while sharing the floor with two other prolific scorers.
Barnett’s short tenure is one of the reasons why he just barely cracks the top 20 of these rankings. However, his productivity over that time undoubtedly earns him a place in these rankings and firmly entrenches him as one of the better Lakers scorers ever.
