Los Angeles Lakers greatest scorers: 20. A.C. Green
When it comes to bucket-getters, no one would describe A.C. green as elite in that category. In fact, over his nine seasons total spent in Los Angeles donning the purple and gold, he never averaged more than 13.6 points per game in any season. Instead, he was more of a do-it-all role player, evidenced by the fact that he averaged 7.7 rebounds and 0.9 steals per game over that same span as well.
Having said that, there are a few things that stand out about Green’s time with the Lakers. For one, he only averaged 29.2 minutes per game over nine seasons, meaning he wasn’t on the floor as often as many others were at the time. Secondly, he was quite efficient over that time as well, shooting 50.3 percent from the field with LA. And finally, Green was admirably consistent as a mid-level scorer, only dipping below double figures per game twice in his initial eight seasons with the Lake Show, once coming as a rookie.
All told, Green’s consistency as a role player throughout his career landed him with the 15th most career points scored with the Lakers in franchise history. So while he may not measure up to some other players on this list who had better individual seasons or runs, his longevity and career mark with Los Angeles is what lands him at No. 20.
