Los Angeles Lakers greatest scorers: 9. Wilt Chamberlain

There’s no way that Wilt Chamberlain falls out of the top five in terms of lists of the all-time greatest scorers in the NBA. After all, no other player has ever put up the per-game averages in seasons that The Big Dipper did and no player has ever put up 100 points in a game. However, those milestones all happened before Wilt joined the Lakers. While he was still dominant when he came to Los Angeles, he was no longer at that level anymore. Hence why he falls to No. 8 in these rankings.

Even if he wasn’t averaging 50 points per game (yes, he actually did do that) with the Lakers, Wilt was still phenomenal at the end of his career. He put up 17.7 points per game for Los Angeles over the course of his five seasons within the organization, totaling 5,985 total points in only 339 games in LaLa Land. Even when he was on his way out of the NBA, The Stilt could still get buckets.

Again, Chamberlain is one of the greatest scorers that the NBA has ever seen. However, he simply wasn’t at the level that he was before by the time he joined the Lakers. Still, he easily makes it into the top 10 of the greatest scorers in Lakers history.
