Los Angeles Lakers greatest scorers: 29. Glen Rice
Continuing the theme of players who weren’t with the Lakers all too long, but were productive as scorers in their time with the team, Glen Rice certainly fits the bill. The sweet-shooting wing only spent two seasons in Los Angeles at the end of the 1990s (missing out on the Shaq-Kobe titles), but that was more than enough time for him to leave his mark on the team in terms of his scoring prowess.
Rice played in 107 games for the Lakers thanks to one of his seasons in LA being shortened by a lockout. However, that didn’t stop him from averaging 16.3 points per game over that span alongside Shaq and Kobe, which is impressive in itself that he could score at that clip alongside two all-time greats. His 43 percent shooting from the field isn’t all too impressive, but his 37.6 percent shooting from long-range is certainly a more than respectable mark and a big part of why he was such a valuable scorer while he was a member of the Lakers.
Once again, he’s penalized in terms of these rankings because of the short nature of his tenure in Los Angeles, but what he was able to do as a scorer with the Lakers gives Rice a firm spot on this all time list.
