2. Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder are piling up assets. It has become a bit of a meme at this point as the Thunder seemingly have half the first-round picks in the league in the near future and Sam Presti deserves a ton of credit for what he has done.

He has taken on assets that were seemingly low in value, getting draft capital simply for taking on those big contracts, then have flipped them for more assets. Chris Paul was the first, Al Horford the second and we can expect the team to do the exact same thing with Kemba Walker.

While the Thunder have a big-contract player in Walker, they still have a lot of salary-cap space and nothing to spend it on. Shai Gilgeous-Alexader will get a big contract extension when it is his time but the team can utilize Bird Rights if need be. OKC has money to spend but is not a free-agent destination.

THT makes sense for multiple reasons. First, for THT, the Thunder make sense as it could present a place where he can get a big workload and get paid as well. This not only makes him more valuable to future teams but makes him more money right away.

For the Thunder, they get a young asset with the hopes of developing him to be part of a young core in Oklahoma City. There could be something special created with all of those picks, SGA and THT.

The one downfall that is a legitimate point is the fact that the Thunder will not contend anytime soon. However, with a ring already to his name, THT could make the better career move and chase the money.
