Los Angeles Lakers: 30 greatest individual performances in team history: 27. LeBron James drops 50 piece

No matter how many NBA Finals LeBron James participates in, he’ll never forget one in particular. The losses for James on the biggest stage are well chronicled but no matter how many times he’s ridiculed, you can never say he didn’t go down without putting up a serious fight.

Well, there was this one time…

During the 2011 NBA Finals, when James was a part of the Miami Heat, everyone believed he would win it all as they matched up against the Dallas Mavericks. But, for some reason, he simply disappeared, averaging just 17.8 points per game. Ever since then, when James plays the Mavericks, he sees red. When they matched up in 2020 as a member of the Lakers, James was thinking payback.

He was a man on a mission that night and it showed. James poured in 39 points, hauled in 12 boards, delivered 16 assists and managed to get four steals. He was the complete package as the Lakers rolled to a win and the NBA title later that year.
