I don’t know about you, but I sure am tired of all the silly rumors floating around when it comes to the Los Angeles Lakers offseason. So many of them are nothing more than utter clickbait. That being said, I have put together a list based on my personal and objective opinion about whom the Lakers should avoid this offseason.

Let’s get serious shall we? Chris Paul isn’t going anywhere. Why would he? The Suns are in the NBA Finals. Why would he leave? Damian Lillard is another guy who I doubt is going anywhere. Do you really think the Clippers are going to let Kawhi Leonard walk away? I truly doubt it.

But what about the players that could join the Los Angeles Lakers?

Here are the players the Los Angeles Lakers should absolutely avoid this offseason.

Kyle Lowry

Kyle Lowry is not the answer. Look, while he may still be quite a talented player, where would he fit in with the Lakers and why would they go out of their way to get him? Plus, the Raptors have his Bird Rights.

His game will not be a good fit for the Lakers at all. He doesn’t have the up-tempo speed to play in that type of system. Lowry seems to be a slow point guard who thrives on being the main man. I cannot see him being a player that the Lakers would pursue. He is also 35 years old and therefore heading towards the end of his career and they are not going to pull the trigger on a move for a guy of that age.

His numbers have also been in decline for a few years. He hasn’t been able to be the guy to take the Raptors to the next level in their post-championship years. They may have broken up many aspects of that team but still, he isn’t the kind of guy to do it alone. There was a reason Rob Pelinka didn’t pull the trigger on a trade for him in the middle of this past season. The Los Angeles Lakers should pass.
