1. The Charlotte Hornets have a former Laker at the helm

Many, if not most Los Angeles Lakers fans are aware that the rest of the league hates their team and is unwilling to do their team any favors.

However, there could be a saving grace for L.A. if it decides to go after Rozier.

Enter Mitch Kupchak.

Longtime fans of the Purple and Gold know him pretty well. He originally came to the team in 1981, and despite suffering a devastating knee injury shortly afterward, he rehabbed like crazy and was a contributor to L.A.’s 1985 NBA title.

He then became the assistant general manager as a sort of apprentice to then-general manager Jerry West, then became the GM himself for many years.

Today, Kupchak, a former University of North Carolina Tar Heel, is the president of basketball operations and GM of the Hornets.

Maybe, just maybe, he would be willing to help his old team and deal them Rozier at a fair price.

Current Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka is reportedly not well-liked or trusted around the NBA. This is where it really helps to have former Lakers such as Kupchak in charge of other teams to execute trades.
