1. Signing Mailk Monk

Monk is the best signing of the Lakers offseason and quite frankly is one of the best value signings in all of basketball. Monk is most likely going to be the Lakers’ fourth-best player this season and to get him at that value, at his age, is incredible.

Monk has only gotten better with more experience in the league and there is a good chance that continues in LA. His overall averages may go down but the level in which he plays will continue to grow. Laker fans should be extremely excited about Monk.

Some may look at Kendrick Nunn and be more excited there and while Nunn is a great player, Laker fans should be more excited for Monk. Monk was a 40% three-point shooter last season and is only entering his age 23 season!

Let’s not forget that he was a former lottery pick and was viewed to have a lot of potential coming into the league. This does not mean that he is destined to be an all-star but all signs are pointing up for Monk’s career.

This was exactly the kind of impactful youth injection that the Los Angeles Lakers needed in this rotation as Monk isn’t just someone who can help the team contend now, he could become a role player for the next five years in LA.

Correction: The original version of this artcle claimed that Malik Monk signed a two-year, Taxpayer’s Mid-Level Exception contract. Kendrick Nunn signed that contract, Monk signed a one-year contract.
