1. The Los Angeles Lakers are a true title contender

The most important thing to LaMarcus Aldridge at this point in his career, aside from actually getting to return to play, of course, is likely to win a championship. Aldridge has had a very decorated career and has made a lot of money and the one thing that has alluded him is a title, let alone a deep playoff run.

It is rather obvious to say but the Los Angeles Lakers present a chance for him to win a title. The Lakers are so far ahead of every other team in the Western Conference and quite frankly, are one of two teams on the true contender tier.

It is the Los Angeles Lakers, the Brooklyn Nets and then everybody else. Of course, anything can happen if people get hurt, as we saw these past playoffs, but even the Milwaukee Bucks are not on the level that the Lakers and Nets are on.

Those are the two best teams for Aldridge to sign with to win a championship and who knows, he very well could choose to return to the Nets. He is already familiar with their operations and the players on that team.

However, there is a different opportunity in LA that might be better for Aldridge, making it a better potential landing spot for the veteran than the Nets.
