The importance of the Los Angeles Lakers winning a title for Carmelo Anthony:

Ok, so he is not the player he once was although recent videos have surfaced showing him working hard on his game in the gym and already getting a heads up on the upcoming season. Look, Carmelo has always been an offensive juggernaut. That has always been his strength.

Playing hard on the offensive side of the ball was where his power always was. He was not a defensive player. A skill that he lacked that kind of hindered his game from an all-around aspect. At this point in his career, he is more of a shooter which is just fine for him because he does it rather well to be quite honest and has embraced the role well and actually become a very good shooter in the last few years.

This past season, he shot the highest percentage for his career from three-point at 40.9%. Anthony will be asked to do just that as the Lakers deeply need a sniper and if Carmelo can do what he did in Portland last season, there is no reason why this Laker team can’t flourish.

A title would be the ultimate ending for a player like Carmelo who has had a great and long career in the NBA. The championship would be the icing on the cake for him. One of the good things to think about is how tight he and LeBron are and it is always good to see friends playing together who know each other well.

He can start or come off the bench but whatever role he plays, as long as he plays hard, the team will have success.
