2. There are so many better options for the Los Angeles Lakers

There are not many great options available in free agency and there are still far better options for the Los Angeles Lakers to explore than Mike James. Personally, I would love to see the team sign a four such as Paul Millsap or LaMarcus Aldridge or even sign James Ennis to provide wing depth.

Even if the Lakers are honing in on the guard position there are better options for them to pursue. JJ Redick offers exactly what the Lakers need in terms of shooting and is still available on the market. He would be significantly better than James.

Heck, the players that the Los Angeles Lakers worked out would be far better. That is saying a lot because anyone who reads my work here on Lake Show Life knows that I am not a big Isaiah Thomas fan.

Thomas would at least bring pedigree and playoff experience that is worth something. He could theoretically also have some big games off the bench in the regular season to help take some of the workload off of Westbrook.

Overall, he is not a great player anymore but he offers far more than Mike James does. As does Darren Collison despite the fact that Collison has not played professional basketball in two years.

The Los Angeles Lakers would be choosing an objectively bad option when there are objectively better options available. That is a colossal mistake.
