2. The Los Angeles Lakers cannot let Anthony Davis shy away from the center position

The Los Angeles Lakers have one of the best two-way big men in the entire league that does not prefer to play the center position. Anthony Davis is going to have to change his tune this season and play more center with Russell Westbook now in town.

The floor spacing in key moments will be absolutely terrible if AD does not play the five. It would not be Davis’ fault, but having a traditional center like Dwight Howard with Davis, LeBron AND Westbrook is only going to clog the lane.

Marc Gasol could play some center to help space the floor but Davis is so good as a five that in crunch time it is better off if he plays the five with someone else in to play forward. That is especially true with Gasol only getting older and it not being a guarantee that he will even return.

Laker fans have been waiting for Anthony Davis to take on a bigger role as a center and if he is going to unlock his MVP potential he has to lean into that role.
