2. LaMarcus Aldridge

LaMarcus Aldridge was forced to prematurely retire before last season even ended due to health concerns about his heart. It was one of the saddest stories in the league last season as Aldridge had just signed with the Brooklyn Nets to try and win his first championship.

That sad story might have a happy ending, though, as Aldridge is reportedly weighing an NBA return after getting further medical evaluations. We have not heard any follow-up reports since the initial Adrian Wojnarowski report and there is a chance that the Lakers could be waiting for the full medical breakdown.

Aldridge should only play if he is absolutely healthy to do so. While he wants to play, his health is obviously the most important factor and if there is any doubt then the Lakers should look elsewhere.

However, if they get the green light and Aldridge is good to go then he would be a solid addition to this team. The Lakers could use some depth in the frontcourt, particularly at the power forward position.

The Lakers do not have a true backup power forward and getting Aldridge would allow the team to play Anthony Davis at the five more without sacrificing size. Heck, even Aldridge could log minutes at the five and be just fine.
