1. Kendrick Nunn
Nearly 12 months ago Kendrick Nunn and Rajon Rondo were battling in the NBA Finals. With another season under their belts, Nunn and Rondo now find themselves as teammates on the Los Angeles Lakers.
Nunn was signed using the Taxpayer’s Mid-Level Exception and it was a pleasant surprise for Laker fans. To get a young player like Nunn on the Taxpayer’s MLE is huge for the Lakers as he is going to be an integral part of the Lakers’ rotation and keeping the team fresh.
Rondo is going to help take some of the burden off of Nunn off the bench, particularly in the playmaking department. We know Nunn can score the basketball but he can use some work as a facilitator, especially if he is meant to be the facilitator off the bench.
It is more important than just taking some of the burden off of Nunn, though. Rondo has seen it all and has accomplished it all in the league. His experience is unmeasurable and some of that experience and expertise is going to naturally rub off on Nunn.
This is what the likes of Alex Caruso and Talen Horton-Tucker benefitted from when Rondo was on the Lakers and now Nunn is going to get some of that rub as well.
