2. Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis has the most experience playing with Rajon Rondo on the Los Angeles Lakers. Prior to joining forces in LA, Davis and Rondo were teammates in New Orleans and it looked like the two were going to make some noise in the NBA Playoffs.
The team upset the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the 2018 NBA Playoffs. Davis averaged 30.1 points and 13.4 rebounds in seven playoff games while Rondo averaged 10.3 points and 12.2 assists per game.
Not only is Davis familiar with Rondo, but he seemingly prefers to play with the veteran point guard as well. According to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, Davis was reportedly frustrated with the looks that he was getting in the post with Dennis Schroder last season because they were not the same as the looks he was getting with Rondo.
Rondo is obviously not going to play as many minutes this season as Schroder did last season but he should still get a fair amount of minutes in the rotation, especially if Davis is vouching for him. More importantly, Rondo could give the Lakers very valuable minutes off the bench in the playoffs in moments where LeBron James and Russell Westbrook are on the bench and Davis is on the floor.
While he was injured, it is no secret that Davis was not as good as he typically is last season. Even before the injury, his numbers were down and Rondo could help him reach that ceiling once more.
