2. Wayne Ellington

Wayne Ellington should be the Los Angeles Lakers’ go-to three-point shooter when it comes to the role players. That being said, Ellington is one of the most volatile players on the Los Angeles Lakers and there definitely is a chance that he disappoints and does not make it on this list.

While I think it is more likely that he succeeds if Ellington starts the season very cold from beyond the arc he will quickly lose his playing time. Ellington is a bad defensive player so if he is not adding the three-point shot then there really is no point in him getting decent minutes.

As it stands right now, I would bet on Ellington getting the starting nod on the Lakers and playing around 25 minutes per game. If he shoots like he did last season then this is going to result in plenty of made threes in LA.

Ellington attempted six threes in 22 minutes per game. He averaged 4.1 threes per 36 minutes played, which rounded down to 25 minutes, equates for about 2.8 made threes per game.

We should see some natural regression with there being so many other shooters on the team as well as a slight dip in what was the second-best three-point percentage of his career. Even with a slight dip, though, Ellington should make a lot of threes.

The former Laker has made as many as 227 threes in a season before, doing so in 2017-18 with Miami. We predict him to make 170.
