3. Boston Celtics

Non-guaranteed contract: Jabari Parker

The Boston Celtics have Jabari Parker to trade to the Los Angeles Lakers if they end up needing another big in Marc Gasol. Despite being a former second overall pick, Parker really does not have any value to the Lakers outside of the team being able to save some money and open up a roster spot.

What is great about Parker is that his partially guaranteed contract is only for $100,000. That is as good as it comes for the Lakers.

As it currently stands, it might not appears that the Celtics need another big. The team has Al Horford and the young Robert Williams to man the position, which seemingly is enough depth.

However, the Celtics are lacking some size and the team would benefit from being able to play both Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum together with a traditional four and five. As it currently stands, Tatum is going to play a lot of the four, which he can do, but he is better off being the three with Brown as the two and Marcus Smart at point.

Horford is also getting up there in age and is not going to be able to contribute nearly what he did during his first stint in Boston. The Celtics definitely could use a third center option, especially with the size of the team in question.

Gasol and Horford could even play together as well because of Gasol’s defensive ability and both of the bigs’ ability to stretch the floor as shooting options.
