Reggie Bullock – 19 games in 2018-19

There are two players that the Los Angeles Lakers acquired late in the 2018-19 season that are easily forgotten about. The first is Reggie Bullock and the second is Mike Muscala, who played 17 games with the team to end that season.

However, it is easier to remember Muscala because of the trade that he was involved in. The Lakers practically gave Ivica Zubac away to the Los Angeles Clippers for Muscala, who was not even that good and was even worse with the Lakers.

Sure, Zubac may not have been part of the team’s long-term plans but they still could have gotten something more in return but I digress.

Bullock was traded for Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk, who was just selected by the Lakers in the second round of the 2018 NBA Draft. The Lakers essentially traded a future sharpshooter who was not yet contributing for a three and D shooter who could help them that season.

It ultimately did not mean anything as the Lakers did not even make the playoffs and they probably wish they would have kept Svi around. The team still won the championship, so there is that, but this trade did nothing.

Bullock had, arguably, the best year of his career last season with the New York Knicks and got paid as a result by the Dallas Mavericks. Bullock signed a three-year, $30 million contract with Dallas to be a three-and-D presence alongside Luka Doncic.
