1. Anthony Davis

The most important player to the overall teams’ success this season in my opinion is none other than Anthony Davis.

Davis is a player who is not just a top 10 talent in the league but he has the makings to be a top 5 player and MVP and Defensive Player of the Year candidate just about every season. Just last year Davis averaged 21 points, 6 rebounds, and just shy of 2 blocks per game. The season before he averaged 26 points 7 rebounds and 2 blocks.

Anthony Davis can literally do it all, he can space the floor with his ability to shoot the 3 ball as well as having a mid-range game in his arsenal. He, of course, has a solid back-to-the-basket post-game, He can guard not only other big men but is able to step out and guard the perimeter on occasion. He can pass the ball fairly well and how could I forget he is an excellent shot blocker. He truly is a generational talent we haven’t seen in some time.

The big question mark surrounding Davis is his health he has been given the dubious moniker of being an “injury-prone” player. He has been injured quite a bit throughout his career but when he is healthy he is a force to be reckoned with.

A motivated, focused, determined Anthony Davis is a scary sight for the rest of the league and a very pleasant sight for the Lakers and their championship aspirations.
