Los Angeles Lakers blow another one against the Oklahoma City Thunder
By Ronald Agers
The story from the Los Angeles Lakers’ loss:
Carmelo Anthony has some heart and the Los Angeles Lakers officially need him to win an NBA title!
It has been a long time since an NBA article of any kind can make that claim. While the Lakers were floundering and losing their composure, Melo kept firing up bombs and knocking them down. He finished with 21 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block. Ever since he missed that shot in OKC, Carmelo has been on fire from behind the arc and has shown toughness that he needs to bottle up and serve to some of his teammates.
After nearly being blackballed out of the league, it is so inspirational to watch this cat shoot the lights out and make Daryl Morey and Mike D’Antoni look ridiculous for what they did to him in Houston.
How long will LeBron James REALLY be out?
The Los Angeles Lakers should have been in no danger of losing this game especially after the Bazley incident in Oklahoma City. The veterans should have too much pride for that. The story going forward is the timeframe of LeBron James returning to the starting lineup.
An abdominal injury is a very tricky injury to gauge and the Lakers have been very clear with the fact that they will not be rushing James back to the lineup at this stage of the season.
With that being said…
There is no way that you will see LeBron James back in the lineup in a week as reported. If the Lakers could hold him out two games because of an ankle injury, there’s a good chance of the team holding out their franchise player for two to three weeks. Why? Because it makes sense.
