2. Alex Caruso

Laker fans are probably sick and tired of hearing about Alex Caruso. Lakers media has covered Caurso extensively this season as the team’s decision still doesn’t quite make sense. It was for monetary reasons against the tax but it was possible. The Lakers just decided they didn’t want to pay more to keep Caruso around.

Caruso is making the team look silly for that decision as he has been playing really well this season. Laker fans knew that he was one of the best defensive guards in the entire league and now an entirely new fanbase is seeing it as Caruso has been a big part of the Bulls’ hot start, providing elite defense off the bench.

Caruso leads the entire NBA in steals per game this season as he is averaging 2.6 steals in only 27.5 minutes per game. Caruso is averaging a ridiculous 3.5 steals per 36 minutes. He is playing at an absurdly high level defensively and would really help this Lakers team.

Caruso started the season on a better note offensively and has cooled down a bit but he is giving the Bulls almost exactly what he gave the Lakers last season on the offensive end. He is averaging just over eight points a game while shooting over 40% from three. That is all Chicago needs him to do offensively.

Caruso isn’t the only former Laker on the Chicago Bulls who is enjoying a hot start to the 2021-22 season.
