3. The Los Angeles Lakers aren’t trading Anthony Davis anytime soon

We already published an entire article breaking down why an Anthony Davis trade is completely out of the realm of possibility for all of the Lakers fans who, for some reason, want to see Anthony Davis get traded.

I definitely understand the frustration with how Davis has played this season and the fact that he can never seemingly stay healthy. Those are both fair points and Davis has been a big letdown because of those two reasons. That does not mean the team is going to trade him.

That is the only other potential way for them to make a trade this season, hence why we included this in the article. The team is never going to be able to trade Russell Westbrook for anyone of value and THT is not as valuable to other teams as he is the Lakers. That leaves AD as the only potential option (because LeBron will never be talked about) and that simply is not going to happen.

The Lakers are not going to improve by trading AD. Sure, we can talk about the dream scenarios of flipping AD for Damian Lillard all we want but the Blazers would never accept that and the Lakers would have to trade AD for someone who is slightly below his level.

Why would LA do that? They wouldn’t. The team is running with Davis both this season and in the future and as concerning as that might be that is the bed that the Lakers made and they have to lay in it. This is not NBA 2K where they can turn on the trade finder and simply flip AD for another superstar.
