As we bring in the new year and look ahead to what 2022 will bring, many of us have New Year’s resolutions that we hope to achieve. Whether it be signing up for a gym membership, or finally using that gym membership you signed up for last January, there are several things that we can do to better ourselves in 2022.

This Los Angeles Lakers team is no different.

The Los Angeles Lakers have had, to say the least, a disappointing 2021. From last season’s injuries to LeBron James and Anthony Davis, culminating in a first round playoff exit, to this season’s disheartening 19-19 start, there has been little for Lakers’ fans to cheer about in this past calendar year.

The new-look Lakers have struggled mightily to round out 2021, as the team has been ravaged by COVID-19 absences, more injuries, and chemistry issues. Several new additions to the team this season have struggled to fit in as well, such as DeAndre Jordan and Russell Westbrook.

Now, heading into the 2022 portion of the calendar, the Lakers look to turn their season around and re-establish themselves as a top contender in the West. Whether or not moves will be made to change up the roster is yet to be determined, but it is quite clear that the Lakers cannot continue to waste a historic year 19 season from LeBron James.

After saying goodbye to 2021 last night and ringing in 2022, the Lakers require some New Year’s resolutions if they want to turn this season around. One could argue that these resolutions are simply major adjustments that should have been made weeks ago, but that seems less fun.

After the Lakers opened up their own new year on Sunday night, defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves 108-103, let’s take a look at a few New Year’s resolutions for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2022.
